थीम: Living in Space (अंतराळातील जीवन)
संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभेने १९९९ साली ४ ते १० ऑक्टोबर हा कालावधी “जागतिक अंतराळ सप्ताह” (World Space Week) म्हणून घोषित केला. या आठवड्याचा उद्देश म्हणजे अंतराळ संशोधनातील प्रगती, विज्ञानातील नवनवीन शोध आणि मानवजातीसाठी अंतराळ तंत्रज्ञानाचे महत्त्व जनतेपर्यंत पोहोचवणे हा आहे.
🛰️ ऐतिहासिक पार्श्वभूमी
- ४ ऑक्टोबर १९५७ रोजी जगातील पहिला मानवनिर्मित उपग्रह “स्पुतनिक-१ (Sputnik-1)” यशस्वीरीत्या प्रक्षेपित करण्यात आला. या घटनेमुळे अंतराळ संशोधनाच्या नव्या युगाची सुरुवात झाली.
- १० ऑक्टोबर १९६७ रोजी अंतराळ संधीवरील करार (Outer Space Treaty) वर स्वाक्षऱ्या झाल्या. या कराराने अंतराळाच्या शांततामय वापरासाठी आंतरराष्ट्रीय सहकार्याचा पाया घातला.
या दोन ऐतिहासिक तारखांच्या निमित्ताने दरवर्षी हा आठवडा साजरा केला जातो.
🌠 थीम 2025: Living in Space
२०२५ साली जागतिक अंतराळ सप्ताहाची थीम आहे “Living in Space” — म्हणजेच अंतराळात मानवी जीवनाची शक्यता, त्यासाठी लागणारी तंत्रज्ञान, वैज्ञानिक प्रयोग आणि भविष्यातील वसाहतींचा विचार.
या आठवड्यात विविध शैक्षणिक संस्था, संशोधन केंद्रे आणि विज्ञानप्रेमी एकत्र येऊन प्रेझेंटेशन, प्रदर्शने, व्याख्याने आणि प्रकल्पांच्या माध्यमातून अंतराळातील नवकल्पना जनतेसमोर मांडतात.

Theme: Living in Space
The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1999 that the week from 4th to 10th October would be observed as World Space Week every year. The main aim is to celebrate the achievements of space science and technology and their contribution to the betterment of humankind.
🛰️ Historical Background
- On 4 October 1957, the first human-made satellite “Sputnik-1” was successfully launched, marking the dawn of the space age.
- On 10 October 1967, the Outer Space Treaty came into effect, establishing the framework for peaceful use of outer space.
Because of these two remarkable milestones, this week is celebrated globally.
🌠 Theme 2025: Living in Space
The theme for 2025, Living in Space, focuses on the possibilities and challenges of human life beyond Earth — including advanced technology, scientific experiments, and the dream of space colonization.
During this week, schools, universities, and research organizations across the world organize exhibitions, seminars, lectures, and creative activities to spread awareness about space exploration.
